Case Study: Creating Lead-Generating Content for People Enablement Platform Zavvy

Zavvy is a people enablement company founded in Munich in 2021. Its software supports people teams in managing employee onboarding, development, and performance management from a single platform. As a relative newcomer to the HR Tech space, Zavvy invested in its organic content program, quickly ranking for competitive terms against some of the biggest players in the market.

In February 2024, Zavvy announced it had been acquired by Deel; its software now integrates with the global people platform to form Deel Engage.

Subject Matter Expertise

Over two years, I’ve written and ghost-written 80+ long-form blog articles for Zavvy, totaling 200k words. My content includes:

  • The latest statistics
  • Academic research
  • Quotes from expert sources in my network
  • Podcast transcriptions
  • Illustrative examples
  • Downloadable templates
  • Plenty of emojis in line with Zavvy’s style guide 😀

This large body of work showcases my deep subject matter expertise on many technical and trending people topics.

For example, I’ve written 16 articles on “employee feedback” from every angle possible, including downward feedback, positive and negative feedback, 360-degree feedback, feedback bias, developmental vs. evaluative feedback, and many more.

Covering these topics in-depth has enabled Zavvy to achieve:

  • 13 out of 16 employee feedback articles on the first page of Google
  • 50% of them are in the top 3 positions
  • 5 out of 16 articles grab the featured snippet for their primary keyword

My articles also generate a significant ROI in terms of keywords and organic traffic value. For example, this single “employee feedback survey” article holds a top three position, ranks for 300+ keywords, and is worth $776 per month in traffic.

Lead-Generating, Sales-Converting Content

Alongside ranking in Google, my content produces tangible business results. Lorelei Trisca, Content Manager of Zavvy, shares how one of my AI-based articles generated a high volume of relevant leads and sales conversions within just a few months of publication:

“One of my favorite articles is also one of our best performers regarding conversions to qualified leads: “AI-Based Learning Platform: Examples, Features, and 5 Top LMS to Try.” We only published this article in mid-July 2023, but it became the sixth highest-converting blog in 2023 (3rd if we consider the conversions across all of our locales).”

Long-Term Content Partnership

I’ve been delighted to collaborate with Zavvy since early 2022, giving me chance to learn their platform’s breadth of features, and work on a ton of engaging HR content together. Zavvy’s marketing team has been a dream to work with, and I’m excited to now be working closely with Deel’s content team. Here’s how Marketing Manager Alexander Heinle describes our long-term partnership:

“Rebecca is a fantastic writer who reliably produces high-quality and unique long-form blog content for us at Zavvy. She is a highly-organized professional who always delivers on time and error-free. Her texts come well-optimized for SEO as she runs them through Clearscope every time. The result?

– High-quality content every week

– Editing effort from our side is basically zero.

Can’t recommend her enough. We are certainly looking forward to much more content to collaborate on in the future. Thanks for being a huge part of the team Rebecca.”
